National Manufacturing and commitment to the economy
The NB IoT connectivity service is provided by Telefónica Tech, a leading company in Spain that ensures connectivity throughout the entire lifespan of the beacon.
Telefónica Tech drives Internet of Things (IoT) technology, a network of smart devices and objects equipped with sensors and software. Its goal is to facilitate communication and data exchange with other systems via the Internet, optimizing connectivity and efficiency.
LED GPS beacons offer 13 years of connectivity, activated from the factory assembly line.
Current regulations require a minimum of 12 years of service, covered by the manufacturer. However, at LED GPS, we add an extra year, ensuring an additional margin that facilitates commercialization without users losing part of the legally required period.
Additionally, Telefónica Tech allows for extended service duration, offering the option to contract additional connectivity periods, thereby prolonging the beacon’s lifespan and reducing environmental impact.
The mandatory use of connected beacons will take effect in January 2026. If a user purchases their beacon before this date, they might lose part of the connectivity period stipulated by the regulations.
To prevent this, LED GPS beacons will include an extended period for all devices manufactured before 2026.
As a result, all LED GPS beacons will have a fixed expiration date of January 2038, ensuring that those who acquire them before the mandatory date enjoy the full connectivity period, as if they had purchased them in 2026.
LED GPS beacons connect to DGT 3.0, anonymously transmitting the location of the broken-down vehicle in compliance with RD 1030/2022, which updates RD 159/2021.
DGT 3.0 is the connected vehicle platform of the Directorate-General for Traffic, designed to interconnect all mobility actors and provide real-time traffic information.
The objective is to improve road safety by alerting drivers to stationary vehicles on the road. Thanks to this connectivity, information will be transmitted via GPS navigators, mobility applications, information panels, law enforcement agencies, roadside assistance services, and the future V27 signal.
LED GPS beacons are designed and produced in Spain, contributing to the growth of the industrial sector and job creation in the country.
We are committed to boosting the national economy by collaborating with various Spanish companies specialized in product design, development, manufacturing, and distribution.
Additionally, we partner with Telefónica Tech, a subsidiary of Telefónica, Spain’s leading telecommunications company, which provides the connectivity platform and technological support required for the LED GPS beacon.

What is the certified V16 beacon with geolocation?
The homologated V16 beacon with geolocation is the new standard in road safety, designed to protect both private drivers and fleet vehicles. This emergency signaling device not only complies with the current regulations of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) but also includes geolocation technology, making roadside assistance easier in case of an emergency. Its installation is simple, quick, and safe: it is placed on the roof of the vehicle without the driver needing to leave the car, reducing the risk of secondary accidents.
The visibility of the V16 beacon is crucial. Emitting a flashing light visible from 1 km away, it ensures that other drivers can easily identify a stationary vehicle, even in adverse conditions such as rain, fog, or snow. Furthermore, GPS connectivity allows the vehicle to be located by emergency services, improving response times in critical situations. Whether you have a private car or manage a fleet of vehicles, the homologated V16 beacon with LED-GPS geolocation is an investment in safety and peace of mind.
How does the DGT connected V16 LED GPS beacon work?
The DGT connected beacon is a step forward in the evolution of emergency devices. This system not only activates manually but also sends real-time information about the location of the stopped vehicle to a central platform, allowing for a faster and more efficient response in case of an accident or breakdown. In addition, the LED-GPS emergency beacon is designed to comply with the requirements of the DGT and the regulations established in RD 1030/2022, which modifies RD 159/2021 and will be mandatory starting in 2026, when it will be required to replace emergency triangles with these new beacons.
What technology does the connected V16 LED GPS beacon use?
Thanks to its connection with the DGT 3.0 platform via NB-IoT, the LED GPS V16 IoT beacon enables immediate communication with emergency services and other drivers on the road. Its installation is simple and safe, as it magnetically attaches to the vehicle’s roof without the driver needing to exit the car, thereby reducing the risk of being struck or causing secondary accidents.
What are the advantages of using an emergency beacon?
The V16 beacons with geolocation offer numerous advantages for both individual drivers and companies managing vehicle fleets. Some of the main advantages include:
- Increased visibility: The flashing light is visible from long distances, enhancing safety on roads with low visibility.
- Additional safety: By not having to exit the vehicle to place the device, you significantly reduce the risk of being struck.
- Real-time geolocation: GPS connectivity allows emergency services to locate the vehicle immediately in case of a breakdown or accident.
- Compliance with regulations: It meets the DGT requirements for use starting in 2026, ensuring you are prepared for the future.
Why are V16 beacons essential for road safety?
V16 beacons are becoming an essential element for any driver who wants to improve road safety. It doesn’t matter if it’s day or night, or the weather conditions you face: this device ensures that your vehicle is visible to other drivers, reducing the risk of collisions. By incorporating geolocation technology, these beacons not only provide a visual warning but also enable emergency services to locate the vehicle accurately.
Additionally, DGT connected beacons offer extra protection, as they send real-time information to the DGT 3.0 platform, enhancing the coordination of authorities in case of an emergency. Vehicle fleets, in particular, can benefit from this technology, as it allows for constant monitoring of vehicles and optimizes emergency management on the road
